Located on the Northeast side of
the island on the Hamakua Coast, Papaaloa is a small area just north of Hilo
and neighbor of Laupahoehoe. It is a gentle community nestled in the green slopes
over looking the Pacific Ocean.
Papaaloa and the Hamakua Coast’s air quality is relatively clear of
vog (volcano fog).

Pepeekeo is less expensive than the majority of the state but more
mid-range pricing for the rest of the island. The cost of living is affordable and the area is in Lava
Hazard Zone 8, which is almost free

of any hazard from the
volcanoes. The area is very
popular because of safety, air quality and the views. Some of the properties in this area
have ocean views. The
availability of property in this area is scarce because those who own these
properties do not wish to sell them.
It makes the properties that do come on the market sell fast.
This area is an easy spot to
commute to and from Hilo. Some
