Located on the East side of the island in the Puna
District, Pahoa is a small village with nice shops and restaurants. It is a good community surrounded
by flower and fruit farms. The
style Pahoa is reminiscent of the old west with the style of buildings and
wooden sidewalks through part of the town. There is also a new shopping center located on the north
end of town with a great grocery store, hardware store, Subway sandwiches,
and more. Puna is also an area
with the cleanest air on the planet.

The real estate market in Pahoa is some of the most affordable
properties compared to other areas on the island and considerably less
expensive than the majority of the state. The cost of living is also very affordable. The county and state will be
expanding the highway to Pahoa because of the increase in traffic from all
of the new residents in the area.
Some of the surrounding subdivisions are definitely nicer than
others. Some of the homes on
the market that may seem to good to be true may have a catch.

Pahoa and the Puna district have many services available. The Puna district is actually large
enough that the entire island of Maui would fit inside with room to
spare. Some popular local
points of interest include: hot ponds, Kahena beach, Lava
Trees Park, Kapoho
tide pools, and Mackenzie
Park.
