Located on the Northeast side of the island on the Hamakua Coast, Laupahoehoe
is a small village little services twenty-six miles north of Hilo. It is a good community with
spectacular views of the ocean.

There is gas station in town and a small grocery store near by. Laupahoehoe and the Hamakua Coast’s
air quality is relatively clear of vog (volcano fog).
The real estate and properties for sale in Laupahoehoe are less
expensive than the majority of the state but more of a mid-range price for
the rest of the island.

The cost of living is affordable and the area is in Lava Hazard Zone 8,
which is almost free of any hazard from the volcanoes. The area is very popular because of
safety, air quality and the views.
The slope of the land along this coast is like stadium seating and
almost every property in this area has a panoramic view of the ocean. The availability of property in
this area is scarce because those who own these properties do not wish to
sell them. It makes the
properties that do come on the market sell fast.
