The real estate market in Kailua-Kona is expensive, in fact a recent journal ranked Kailua-Kona seventh on the list of most expensive properties in the U.S.The cost of living is less affordable than most areas on the island.The area is in Lava Hazard Zone 4, which is relatively free of any hazard from the volcanoes.
